Private commission to benefit

PAWS Chicago

The eyes of an animal speak volumes because they themselves cannot.
Welcome to Naughty Paw, art for those who understand the commitment and joy of rescue, foster, and adoption. Animal rights  awareness, welfare, and advocacy is a growing force around the world.

Chicago artist, Anna Marie Crovetti has a passion for supporting animal welfare programs and often participates in events that benefit the welfare and safe haven for animals in need of rescue or foster. After decades as a gallerist, consultant, instructor and independent film producer, she is back in the studio with her rescued and adopted pet family at her side. She has been painting portraits since childhood and for many years, private commission portrait services have been donated to organizations such as Best Friends Animal Society, PAWS Chicago, Peace for Pits, American Humane Society, ASPCA, Animal Welfare Institute, The Wild Cat Sanctuary, Orphans of The Storm, Rileys Rescue Foundation, Players For Pits, just to name a few.

Continued diligence must persevere regarding animal rights, for protection from cruelty, overbreeding, abuse, neglect and abandonment, education and in the efforts for strengthening laws for unspeakable violations to animals. But, there is a light, the tireless path and impactful movement is reinforced with great fortitude every single day. The recent pandemic has proved that open arms, hearts, and homes have been found by the thousands to provide forever families for animals in need.

Please contact the artist for private commissions or inquire about fundraising events for the benefit of animal welfare organizations.

Portrait Commissions

A commissioned work of art is a unique event. With infinite possibilities in creating a painting, the artist remains open to the client’s ideas and desires, sharing the process of “the experience” along the way.

The artist and client discuss the subject(s), medium, specific details such as orientation, color versus black & white, size, and fees for the work. Suitable resource photographs are of extreme importance as it is difficult or near impossible to complete an acceptable painting without them. Posthumous portraits can also be arranged dependent upon the quality of available photographs.

The artist then selects reference photographs and discusses them with the client. With the client’s approval, a preliminary sketch for the final piece will be  done for client’s review before final composition is created.

As the painting progresses and nears completion, the artist will submit digital photos, via e-mail or text, of the work for the client’s review. This process is invaluable as it provides for the acceptance of final artwork before actual completion.

A non-refundable commitment deposit of 50% of the total agreed price is required prior to beginning the work to reserve commissioned time. The balance is payable upon delivery and client satisfaction of the finished piece. An approximate date of completion is estimated, usually two to four weeks (per subject) from the time of commission acceptance. Completion time can vary due to the scale of the work and level of detail, such as background, complexity, number of subjects, additional objects, etc. If there is a commission waiting list at the time of commitment, a future scheduled due date will be reserved. For holiday deliveries, please reserve time no later than October 1st.

Each work of art is distinctive and requires its own time so fees vary. Please contact the artist for an estimate and additional portrait gallery. Fees start at 325.00 USD and shipping for original paintings is complimentary in the United States. International shipping fees are not included.
